It was a cold crisp day in the great state of Arkansas. There was a thundering boom in your ears of a power hammer echoing all around - sparks flying from a big man making a damascus billet in a red hot forge.
Tense fellings were present and a competitive spirit abounded as 15 men brought out their "cutting" knives and swords. These blades were made just for this competition. Each knife and sword had a lanyard on it to keep it from flying away. There were five events... judged and moderated by the notorious Jerry Fisk.
1. To cut clear though 5 paper books
2. Cut in half a cigarette held by an gun shell without knocking it over.
3. Cut a 2x4 in half - as quick as possible.
4. Cut in half heavyduty carpet cardboard tubes.
5. Cut a hanging cigarette paper held only by a cloths pin (while swinging in the breaze).
FIRST PLACE WINNER WAS JOHN FITCH OF ARKANSAS!!!
All had a great time. Hope you enjoy the pictures from the weekend... Larry
