 Art WashburnArt has been making knives since 1997, "Devin Thomas introduced me to knifemaking and has been a big influence on me. I was taken with knife making and damascus steel so much that I now work full time helping Devin in his steel making operation and make knives after work in my home knife shop."
Because of his work and relationship with Devin Thomas damascus is an important part of every Washburn knife. Art mentioned about his knives, "I work in 100% damascus almost exclusively and even learned to grind the bevels on a blade in damascus." Art makes all kinds of folders including slip joints, multiblades, linerlocks, and the occasional lock back folder. Recently Art has picked up several very impressive awards -including "Best New Maker" at the Blade Show West in Costa Mesa CA. this past Oct. 99.
Because of the high quality and value I anticipate this is the beginning of a long and impressive knifemaking career. I hope you enjoy his knives as much as I do.
