William "Billy" Burger"In a world of mass production there appears to be a decline of appreciation for the true art form. Craftsmen, the dedicated "soul" workers, are diminishing, masterpieces created by gifted men and women producing articles of quality and individuality are rare. Knife makers are not there only to please customers, but have become dedicated artists in their own right, expressing their vision, and achieving personal satisfaction.
At an early age I had a yearning to one day produce a knife that embodied practicality, comfort, and pleasure for the user, and would also hopefully be admired as an art form to satisfy the connoisseur. It was not until I took the plunge and sought out the guidance of Owen Wood and Buzz Bezuidenhout that my dreams started to become reality. The benchmark set by them became my inspiration. My own appreciation of line and form, gathered from years of experience in my capacity as a professional photographer, aided me in producing knives illustrating my own distinctive style." - William (Bill) Burger
