Starting in 1970 and continuing today, the name Frank Centofante has been synonimous with quality handmade knives. In the earl years, Frank mainly made straight knives and hunting knives. Then, later began making lockback folding knives. Frank is a member of the Cutlery Hall of Fame, the Corporazione Italiana Coltellinai and the Knifemakers Guild. Frank joined the Knifemakers Guild in 1971 and was on the board of directors for 20 years including four successive terms as president from 1989-1996.
Frank Centofante has won many awards including, Red Watson Award presented by the Knifemakers Guild, Blade Magazine Publishers Award, Beretta Award as well as many others. He is co-author of the book "How To Make Folding Knives" along with knifemakers Ron Lake and Wayne Clay.
