Galyean Pro Series Knives

Tim Galyean is a masterful knifemaker and designer in the world of custom knives. His knives are amazing! The Pro-Series is a chance for Galyean to offer an extremely high quality knife that performs well at a variety of tasks, while providing an amazing value.

Tim Galyean is an Oregon native and was born in 1981. He started his machining career at the age of 16. He worked for a company that manufactures very precise scientific instruments. While gaining real-world experience he simulaneously went to school for Computer Aided Drafting/Computer Aided Machining (CAD/CAM). After graduation, he worked for Kershaw Knives in the Research and Development Department for seven years. His duties at Kershaw were to take a design from sketch and develop it until it was production ready.

He commented that, "I have many influences in the design of my knives, but the most prevalent one would be aviation. There is just something that draws me to the precision, beauty, and raw power of a fighter jet." Galyean also gives Ken Onion a lot of credit, "Ken Onion would be the biggest person to influence my design. Ken has taught me a lot about design, but most importantly what makes a design be aesthetically pleasing, and very functional."

Tim has a wife, Erin, and a son, T.J. (Tim Jr.) He is a die hard hunter. It seems most of the time he spends outside of his knife shop is consumed by hunting or preparing for the upcoming hunting season. Galyean prefers to hunt the thick, steep country of the Costal and Cascade Mountains of Oregon.
