Howard Viele

Howard Viele has been designing and making custom knives for over thirty years. Viele is known for his amazing design and clean workmanship. He has been awarded numerous honors at shows including the Knifemakers Guild Show, New York Custom Knife Show and a publishers award "Wooden Sword" in the 'Knives' series.

Viele Knivess are easily recognized by his ultra-modern design, trademark three holes in the blade and a Japanese symbol. This symbol represents the "God of War" in Japan.

He has done many collaborations with international knife companies such as Spyderco, Columbia River Knife & Tool, and Phantom Knives. He also has teamed up to build custom knives with several top names in custom knifemaking; Allen Elishewitz and designers Joel Pirela & Liong Mah.

Howard also enjoys fine pens, watches and asian art. He enjoys living and making knives in the quiet town of Westwood, New Jersey.
