Kaj Embretsen

Kaj Embretsen is one of the most well known knifemakers from Sweden. His knives are easy to recognize and exhibit a trademark "Embretsen" style. He was originally a cabinet maker. In 1983 he went full time as an artist knifemaker. He attends many of the worlds most prestigous knifeshows - in the US, Italy and France. Kaj enjoys traveling and attending knife shows, "I enjoy traveling to many different countries and meeting new customers and friends."

Kaj Embertsen is known for his wonderful damascus and folding knives. His knives exhibit a level of precise handwork and organic flow that very few would be able to replicate. Each folder he makes is exact and flows from start to finish. He easily handles complex work such as multiblades, mosaic damascus and even hand carving his own damascus corkscrews. Embertsen comments that making knives is "hard work" but he strives to continualy be creative.

The soft spoken Swede enjoys the freedom of his Harley Davidson 'Softail Heritage' motorcycle. He often rides across Sweden an other areas of Europe.
