Chuck Ward

Chuck Ward makes a beautiful, well designed and functional knife. Ward knives are made with of finest equipment and skill. Chuck is an avid hunter and knows the importance of a good knife. Currently he is also the President of the Arkansas Knifemakers Association. Mr. Ward makes folders, hunters, fighters, and a few Bowie knives.

Why make knives? "I like the creative part of knifemaking. I enjoy making a handmade knife. I feel the finest knives are made by custom knifemakers and I am proud to be a part of this group."

What is important in a Ward Knife? "One of the main things that is important is the transition between the tang and blade. The knife must be functional as a cutting instrument. The knife must be comfortable and a joy to use. With the knife I have made for myself I have skinned, gutted, and deboned an entire elk and can still shave the hairs off of my arm."

What is your knifemaking history? "I started making knives in 1990. It was an easy transition for me because I have been working with metal for the past 40 years."

Knifemaking as an art? "There is no limit to the art that can be portraited in a knife. The only limit is the the makers creativity."
