The Benchmade 490 Arcane flipper blends Benchmade's famous AXIS Assist deploying system with an integrated safety lock. Measuring a length total of 7.72 inches and weighing just 2.88 ounces, the 490 Amicus is a powerful everyday and tactical carry flipper.
The stainless steel S90V blade is 3.2 inches long, with plain edge for simple and smooth cutting and slicing and a satin finish to reduce glare from the blade, as well as hide nicks and scratches. The drop-point profile of the blade creates a strong tip, which supports the Amicus's ease in control for the user when directing the blade while cutting, slicing, or piercing through various materials. Made with American-made CPM-S90V stainless steel, the blade has a Rockwell Hardness of 59-61. The S90V steel provides the user with excellent edge retention, toughness, and strength.
The 4.52-inch long and .48 inch thick handle is made with hard anodized black 7075-T6 aluminum, which gives the Amicus its sleek design and lightweight feel, without decreasing its strength or durability on the field. The handle features a reversible tip-up pocket clip for deep carry and includes a lanyard hole for an alternative carry on a belt. The handle features Benchmade's AXIS Assist with safety, which engages the tang portion of the knife blade when opened, and allows for ambidextrous use.

It’s a Benchmade!, August 30, 2021Benchmade 490 Arcane S90V Steel - Assisted - Axis-Lock Folding KnifeThese knives are well made and solid. The steel takes an edge and holds it. Benchmade makes a crest edc companion. My others have done everything I’ve asked and are still doing what’s expected. I should review this one in 5 years. But for now, I’ll say, it’s a Benchmade
