Every once in a while, a knife comes around that just demands your attention. From country music star, Zac Brown, a knife aficionado and humanitarian, comes the Penguin. A tactical flipper crafted with the same high-quality materials and craftsmanship you have come to expect from 20 years of Southern Grind knives. The fine blasted bronze anodized titanium 4.6" handle is already impressive, with a no-frills, utilitarian design that is not only tactical in appearance, but also in function. Lightweight, durable, and comfortable to hold, it features a frame locking mechanism that is accessed via the finger groove. Titanium spacers provide additional durability while cutting the weight down on the knife. The 3.5" hand-forged stainless raindrop damascus blade is from Chad Nichols, and an exclusive to knifeart.com. A simple flip of the ambidextrous flipper feature, which glides on pivot bearings, brings the knife to a 8.1" overall length.

The stainless damascus blade doesn't just sit there and look pretty either. Due to the metals used and the crystalline structure of the metals created during forging, the blade becomes stronger, corrosion resistant, and ready to take and keep a razor sharp edge. Combine that with the design of the handle, and you have a knife that not only looks really elegant but once you pull it out of your pocket, it is ready to work. At 4.5oz, the knife has a little heft, but it will serve you well through work, play, outdoors activities, tactical applications, or even just looking great on your shelf as a collectible. So whether it is the boat, hunting, or everyday carry, the Penguin is a simply a great knife to have.

Southern Grind knives are hand-forged, built, and assembled in the Peachtree, GA, USA. Free Shipping from knifeart.com, an Authorized Dealer of Southern Grind knives. No Restocking Fees in the unlikely event you would need to return it.

This is an excellent knife. I typically carry a Large Sebenza, but this knife is going to replace the Sebenza as my edc. At some point they might go into a weekly rotation, but for now the Penguin will be in my pocket. In fact I will likely be ordering a second one to keep in the collection like I did with my Sebenza’s. Love this blade like some chicken fried. Everyone needs to add this blade to their collection!

You ever notice in the song “Toes”, that Zac never mentions his knife?

“I got my toes in the water, ass in the sand
Not a worry in the world, a cold beer in my hand
Life is good today, life is good today”

“Not a worry in the world”, because I’m guessing that he carries a penguin as his edc blade. “I got my toes in the water, ass in the sand
Not a worry in the world, a cold beer in my hand
Life is good today, life is good today”. Life is good with my Southern Grind Penguin from Knife Art in my pocket. Customer service is top notch. You will not make a mistake buying this knife or buying it from Knife Art.

Beautiful design with great ergonomics. Chad Nichols damascus blade does not disappoint- a bit tough to sharpen but once you've set your angle, it takes an very keen edge that touches up easily. The knife does not suffer from an andquot;overbuiltandquot; syndrome and is a pleasure to hold in large/XL hands. Action is perfect and so is lockup. Love the clip. Great balance of form and function in an elegant EDC package. Southern grind nailed it!
