Chris Reeve Carbon Fiber Large Inkosi - Drop Point - MagnaCut

Chris Reeve Carbon Fiber Large Inkosi - Drop Point - MagnaCut
The American-made Chris Reeve Carbon Fiber Large Inkosi Drop Point is a KnifeArt exclusive built. The Inkosi is built oversized compared to the Sebenza, with a thicker blade, larger pivot, and heavier-duty hardware. The 3.64-inch drop point blade is the most multipurpose shape, ready for any task. At just 4.0 ounces, the carbon fiber version saves nearly a full ounce over the standard titanium Large Inkosi without compromising on strength or durability. Dual titanium thumb lugs allow easy one-hand opening with either hand, and Finger grooves for the index and middle finger machined into the handle frame, unlike the Sebenza's single index finger groove, provides a secure grip. The frame lock allows one-handed closing.
The stainless CPM MagnaCut blade has a shallow hollow grind that is almost like a flat grind, providing excellent cutting ability and strength at the edge. The blade spine acts as a thumb rest with clean, precision-machined jimping for traction. The blade is 0.14" thick, stouter than the Large Sebenza 31's 0.12" blade, giving the Inkosi additional strength for demanding tasks. The stonewashed finish hides scratches and gives the blade a uniform appearance. MagnaCut at 63-64 HRC is the latest in Chris Reeve Knives' history of pioneering blade steels with Crucible Industries.
The carbon fiber front scale paired with sandblasted titanium on the lock side creates an exceptionally lightweight, rigid handle with a modern, technical appearance. Carbon fiber has an outstanding strength-to-weight ratio. The fit and finish is considerably higher than standard folders. The titanium frame lock delivers a "bank vault" lockup from extremely high tolerances and a handle lapped perfectly flat. A ceramic lock ball inlaid into the titanium lockbar interfaces with the hardened steel blade tang for positive engagement with no lock rock. The Inkosi pivot uses larger phosphor bronze washers with deep lubrication pockets, creating a very rigid folding knife when opened. The opening is smooth and controlled, and a detent holds the blade securely closed until needed.
This is a KnifeArt exclusive not available from other dealers. The knife is user-serviceable through complete disassembly and reassembly, and features a titanium pocket clip offset from the lockbar, a lanyard for pocket removal and handling, microfiber cloth, Loctite, fluorinated grease, 5/64" L wrench, and documentation. CRK will refinish the titanium through their Spa treatment, and every Inkosi is backed by a lifetime warranty from Boise, Idaho. Inkosi means "Chief" in Zulu, a naming tradition from the South African heritage of the Reeve family. KnifeArt has been an authorized Chris Reeve dealer for over twenty years. We stock these so you can skip the long wait times when ordering direct. Free US shipping and satisfaction guarantee included. This knife normally ships the same business day.

This is my first CRK. The carbon fiber feels great and makes the weight just right. The Insingo blade has a pleasing shape and cuts well. Action is smooth and effortless. Lock-up is strong. Overall the perfect knife!
I first purchased the Insingo version of this knife and loved it so much decided to also buy the drop point version. The carbon fiber really helps with balance and weigh, it looks very elegant and gives a warm feel in hand. The lane yard and bead add a touch of class to this workhorse of a knife. Really nicely done.
There is something to be said about a Chris Reeve knife. Then you go and put a CF scale on one side!!! This knife is great, and amazing. The action is so smooth, and beautiful! Can't get better than this.
This is a must have if you are a Chris Reeve enthusiast. Carbon fiber, blue anodized thumb studs, and the whole knife itself is one to have for your collection. I love everything about it.
Bought the small carbon Inkosi a week before and fell in love with the craftsmanship and smooth operation so I had to buy this too! I got number 100. Oh yeah...super fast shipping. Buy it if you appreciate quality and beauty!
This is my second CF handled Sebenza. Like the Sebenza 25 this large Inkosi with its added practical changes is now turned into a lightweight champ. Kudos to Knifeart for investing in this exclusive quality addition. This makes the CRK folders the star performers and a very very small price to pay to upgrade at this level. Love it Thank you

This is my first CRK and I must say I now understand all the hype. I ended up with #14. I was literally wishing that there was a large Inkosi CF when this was announced a week later and found out the first 100 would be numbered a day before I was about to purchase a small 21 CF. This knife is perfect in every aspect that it can be. The fit and finish are perfect. The centering and grind are perfect. The hollow blade grind and stonewash are beautiful. Every single curve and edge has been thought out. Very overbuilt ensuring the user it will stand up to the most difficult task. But its biggest accomplishment? It only weights 4oz. Something very few knife makers take into consideration these days.
Will be ordering a Small 21 CF fairly soon as well. Cant wait!
