This variation of the blade is crafted from CPM-S30V stainless steel that has been black chromium nitride treated for extra corrosion protection, giving it a smooth finish, yet still unreflective for tactical purposes. The drop point blade is 3.24" in length, and with a Rockwell hardness of 58-60, the .090" thick steel can be sharpened down to a razor sharp edge it will hold for a long time. Steel of this kind has the benefit of being flexible enough to have some give when force is applied without snapping in two, but also hard enough to maintain an impressive cutting edge.
