The CPM-S35VN steel on this knife is wildly tough and holds a good edge. These two features are top of the list for a rugged survival tool. The blade has a hollow grind and is finished with a fine stonewashed finish, perfect for hiding the inevitable scratches that come with use. Another feature of the steel is the fact that it is produced using particle metallurgy process, the CPM stands for Crucible Particle Metallurgy, that yields an extremely even distribution of the carbides in the steel. CPM steel is cleaner and stronger and cuts more evenly than steel made with the cheaper standard process. The CPM S35VN steel is heat-treated to a hardness rating of 58-60 HRC.

On top of the blade is a notch to use for striking a Ferro rod, aka fire stick, which is included with each knife and attaches to the sheath. The handle is 5" long making the full length of the White River Firecraft knife 9". Each handle has a deep finger choil design which protects fingers when pressure is applied if using the knife for cutting. This knife will hold up to heavy batoning if you need to leverage it against larger tasks.

Every handle is designed with a polished stainless steel divot for use with a fire bow.
