The Chris Reeve Small Sebenza 31 Drop Point in CPM MagnaCut is the epitome of American-made everyday carry (EDC) folding knives. The stainless CPM MagnaCut blade has a shallow hollow grind that is almost like a flat grind, providing excellent cutting ability and strength at the edge. The blade spine acts as a thumb rest with clean, precision-machined jimping for traction. The stonewashed finish hides scratches and gives the blade a uniform appearance. MagnaCut at 63-64 HRC is the latest in Chris Reeve Knives' history of pioneering blade steels with Crucible Industries, following S30V, S35VN, and S45VN.
Titanium is an extremely strong metal by its weight-to-strength ratio, and the flat titanium handle slabs make this the most compact, slimmest carry in the Sebenza 31 lineup. The fit and finish is considerably higher than standard EDC folders. The sandblasted titanium is grippy and utilitarian. The titanium frame lock delivers a "bank vault" feel from extremely high tolerances and a handle lapped perfectly flat. A ceramic lock ball inlaid into the titanium lockbar interfaces with the hardened steel blade tang, providing positive engagement with no lock rock. Standard titanium-on-metal locks wear over time, but the extremely hard ceramic ball virtually eliminates that issue entirely. The pivot features a solid-state phosphor bronze bushing designed to retain lubrication. The opening action is smooth and controlled, and a detent holds the blade securely closed until you need it.
The Sebenza is designed to be user-serviceable through complete disassembly and reassembly, and features a matching blasted titanium pocket clip offset from the lockbar, a lanyard for pocket removal and handling, microfiber cloth, Loctite, fluorinated grease, 5/64" L wrench, and documentation. Perfect EDC , December 1, 2021Chris Reeve Small Sebenza 31- S45VN Drop Point Blade The drop point hollow ground blade using S45VN steel is a perfect blend with the blasted ti frame to make it the ultimate gentleman's EDC knife. It's overall good looks and blue accent points complete the package. The installed paracord lanyard is a pleasant visual touch as well as functional for easy pocket retrieval. I'm completely satisfied with my purchase and will some day pass it on to my son. Thanks.
Small Sebenza 31, August 16, 2021Chris Reeve Small Sebenza 31- S45VN Drop Point Blade Perfect right out of the box! I have another CRK but this is my first time with the small 31 and not being able to handle one locally I had some concerns. Concerns eliminated, this knife is just great. I'm very happy with both it and Knife Art's excellent service.
Great Knife, April 15, 2021Chris Reeve Small Sebenza 31- Drop Point Blade Folding KnifeThis is my first experience with a more expensive knife, and overall I am very impressed. I wanted something that I can keep/carry long term as well as something that looks nice, and the Sebenza ticks both of those boxes. However, there are a couple things I was somewhat disappointed with for the price point. First, the knife was not very sharp at all. I’ve read about this from several other places so it wasn’t a huge surprise, but it’s kind of strange especially when they offer resharpening services. The next thing is the pivot screw coming loose almost immediately, another problem I’ve read about before. I used the loctite and put the knife away for 24 hrs, only for the pivot to come loose again. Again I took the pivot screw out and cleaned it, used more loctite, and it has held ever since. Kind of annoying for $375, but I love the knife nonetheless.
My experience with Knife Art was great! I had an issue with my shipping address, and Rodney called to confirm it before he shipped the knife out. On top of that, I had the knife in hand less than 2 days after ordering! Will definitely be buying from here again.

Small Sebenza 31 - An epiphany!, June 18, 2020Chris Reeve Small Sebenza 31- Drop Point Blade Folding KnifeI am an avid knife collector, (i.e., Knife Nerd!!). I have purchased, used, and traded many knives over my lifetime. It finally came down to a monumental decision I recently had. If I could carry just one knife what would it be. Like many others I had read and researched Chris Reeve knives. Having never spent more than $200 for a knife I was in constant turmoil of spending a large sum for a tool that I would carry everyday. I bit the bullet and purchased the Chris Reeve Small Sebenza 31 with the guidance from Rodney Connelly at Knifeart. The knife is incredible. The minimalist design, the intense attention to detail, and the absolute precison in fit and finish is evrything I have read and more.
