The serrated section near the choil handles rope, webbing, zip ties, and fibrous materials that a plain edge alone can struggle with, while the rest of the 3.55-inch blade provides a full plain-edge cutting surface for everyday tasks. The Redoubt delivers Benchmade's AXIS lock and build quality at an accessible price point.

The blade is CPM D2 tool steel at 60-62 HRC with a cobalt black coating. D2 is a semi-stainless tool steel known for strong edge retention and wear resistance. The cobalt black coating adds corrosion protection and a non-reflective tactical finish. The drop point profile is versatile for general cutting, and the partial serrations are positioned where they provide the most utility for emergency and cordage cutting. Dual thumb studs provide ambidextrous opening.

The handle is green and grey Grivory, a reinforced polymer that is lightweight, impact resistant, and impervious to moisture and chemicals. The full-size handle provides a four-finger grip with room to spare. The AXIS lock keeps the blade securely open until you release it.
