The Benchmade 980SBK is 8.90" in overall length with a 3.70" drop point, black cerakote coated CPM-S30V stainless steel blade, which sheds moisture as well as it protects against marring and scratches. The added vanadium in this high-carbon steel alloy makes the steel extremely hard with an HRC of 58-60. The .124" blade stock is sharpened down to a razor-sharp edge which holds its own against dulling, chipping, and corrosion, use after use. The swedge makes the blade almost spear-point in appearance, giving you versatility in point precision and piercing. Partial serrations on the blade are useful when cutting rope or seatbelts. Deep jimping continues from the back of the blade to the G10 handle, providing additional control and grip for thumb and finger alike. The ambidextrous thumb studs aid in quick deployment for single-handed use when moments count.
