At nearly 3" long, the black oxide Caswell finished head is made from 3/8" stock, and the tapered tang extends through the full length of the handle for extra strength.

The handle is made from premium sculpted camo G10 for a sure grip in any weather. From the butt of the handle to the top of the hatchet head, this tactical hatchet is 13.8" long.
