G-10 is a fiberglass laminate that outperforms canvas laminate and wood in moisture resistance and chemical resistance, and the sculpted contours create finger grooves for positive grip indexing. At 3.25 inches of blade and 7 inches overall, the SD1 is sized for everyday carry while delivering Winkler build quality.

The blade is 80CRV2 high carbon steel with a black oxide Caswell finish. 80CRV2 delivers the same toughness and edge retention found across every knife in the Winkler production range.
