Chris Reeve Inyoni Knives
The Chris Reeve Inyoni is a compact, ultralight fixed blade built for field use. The name means "bird" in Zulu, and the knife lives up to it. Chris Reeve originally designed the Inyoni earlier in his career, and it was brought back into production in 2022 to fill a real gap in the CRK fixed blade lineup. It is narrow and precise, where other fixed blades are thick and heavy, and that makes it useful in a wider range of situations than its size suggests. It is available with black canvas Micarta or natural canvas Micarta handle scales.
The CRK Inyoni is full-tang construction with a 3.775-inch drop point blade made from CPM MagnaCut stainless steel, heat-treated to 63-64 HRC. At just 2.4 oz. with scales and 1.6 oz. Without it, it is one of the lightest full-tang fixed blades in the Chris Reeve lineup. Overall length is 7.957 inches. The blade carries a stonewash finish that hides field wear and reduces moisture adhesion. Handle scales are removable canvas Micarta, available in black or natural, and the knife ships with a slim-profile Kydex sheath designed for easy pack or belt carry. The narrow profile and light weight also make this a natural edc fixed blade for anyone who wants a fixed blade on their hip without the bulk of a larger knife.
The Inyoni covers four use cases well. As a fishing knife, the narrow blade and fine tip give you the control you need for cleaning fish quickly and efficiently. For small game hunting, the belly is deep enough to work through a bird or rabbit without tearing. It is also a capable hunting knife for lighter field dressing tasks where a thick-bladed skinner would be overkill. And for everyday carry, the lightweight and slim sheath means you barely notice it. What ties all of this together is the CRK standard of construction behind it. The tolerances, the fit of the Micarta scales, the geometry of the grind, all of it is built to the same standards Chris Reeve Knives holds on their folders. Many customers comparing the Chris Reeves Inyoni to the Backpacker find that the Inyoni is the narrower, more specialized blade while the Backpacker is the more general-purpose backcountry tool.
