The Chris Reeve Large Sebenza 31 made its debut at the BLADE show in June 2019 and since then it has been making some serious waves for knife enthusiasts and collectors alike. Previously, the Chris Reeve Sebenza 21 had been at the height of everyday carry knife design and craftsmanship, with materials and construction with almost no rival. Improved machining methods and equipment make the Sebenza 31 adhere to even higher tolerances than any of its predecessors. Signifying 31 years of Chris Reeve knives, the Sebenza 31 was an improvement on perfection.
The Chris Reeve Large Sebenza 31 is 8.335" in overall length with a 3.625" blade made of forged Chad Nichols stainless Boomerang pattern damascus. The drop point blade is hollow ground for the best slicing profile with a stonewash finish for extra protection against corrosion. With a Rockwell hardness of 59-60, it is extremely hard and holds a razor-sharp edge and endures all sorts of punishment cut after cut.
The frame lock locking device is incorporated into the blasted 6AI4V titanium handle and features a ceramic ball to reduce wear at points where steel and titanium meet, which provides secure locking and functionality. The off-set clip is an improvement over the Sebenza 21 as well, giving the user a more comfortable grip. The blasted titanium finish not only looks amazing, but it also feels good in the hand and reduces weight, even though the 31 has an ample grip with wider inlays than previous Sebenzas. The Sebenza 31 gives you the freedom to clean and lubricate the perforated bronze phosphor pivot washers or switching out thumb studs and spacers to customize your knife. You can easily field-strip the entire knife with an allen wrench to make sure it is maintained properly.

No big deal as I would have returned the knife if not happy.. but much preferred the damascus in the stock photo as it is tighter and more chatoyant, compared to the example I got. Also the color of the thumb stud appeared to show alot of opening and closing before reaching me. That is ok thought as it could have helped break it in a little bit and this knife is a user for me. But my only suggestion might be to show photos of the individual knife because variances in the damascus even if the same pattern, can make or break a deal for me. I liked this feel of this knife compared to some other CRK so I kept it and definately am enjoying it. Thanks!
