The Chris Reeve Large Sebenza 31 made its debut at the BLADE show in June 2019 and since then it has been making some serious waves for knife enthusiasts and collectors alike. Previously, the Chris Reeve Sebenza 21 had been at the height of everyday carry knife design and craftsmanship, with materials and construction with almost no rival. Improved machining methods and equipment make the Sebenza 31 adhere to even higher tolerances than any of its predecessors. Signifying 31 years of Chris Reeve knives, the Sebenza 31 was an improvement on perfection.
The Chris Reeve Large Sebenza 31 is 8.335" in overall length with a 3.625" blade made of CPM-SVN35 stainless steel, which was forged by Crucible Industries specifically with Chris Reeve knives in mind using vanadium and niobium to create extremely tough and hard tool steel. The drop point blade is hollow ground for the best slicing profile with a stonewash finish for extra protection against corrosion. With a Rockwell hardness of 59-60, it is extremely hard and holds a razor-sharp edge and endures all sorts of punishment cut after cut.
This large Sebenza 31 has natural canvas micarta inlays. The frame lock locking device is incorporated into the blasted 6AI4V titanium handle and features a ceramic ball to reduce wear at points where steel and titanium meet, which provides secure locking and functionality. The off-set clip is an improvement over the Sebenza 21 as well, giving the user a more comfortable grip. The blasted titanium finish not only looks amazing, but it also feels good in the hand and reduces weight, even though the 31 has an ample grip with wider inlays than previous Sebenzas. The Sebenza 31 gives you the freedom to clean and lubricate the perforated bronze phosphor pivot washers or switching out thumb studs and spacers to customize your knife. You can easily field-strip the entire knife with an allen wrench to make sure it is maintained properly.

The 31 is awesome. The biggest differences that stick out to me are the large detent ball that is also a lockbar insert, the lockup sound, and strong draw of the blade when closing. Knife art customer service was very kind to me. Iíll be purchasing more knives from this site for sure.
This was/is my first Chris Reeve knife. Iíve been wanting one for a while and finally decided to treat myself after a successful business year. I shopped all over the net for in stock CRK and landed on KnifeArt... how I havenít stumbled upon them already is a mystery.
The CRK of course doesnít need much of a review. Itís everything I hoped it would be and more!
That all being said; everything about my purchase was tops. Easy checkout, free shipping for my item at the time, and quick shipping. Nothing makes me happier than a company that can ship same day items and not just print a shipping label that you receive shipping info on where youíre watching the tracking info for a couple days ďwaiting for pick upĒ . Same day shipping is something I always shoot for it in my own business and know it can be tough at times. For that I am appreciative!
When Iím ready for another prime blade, knife art will be my first choice! Thank you!
