Winkler Shadow Strike Knives
The Winkler Shadow Strike started as a fictional knife. Jason Kasper, retired Special Forces Captain, Iraq and Afghanistan veteran, and bestselling thriller author, first imagined a custom Winkler blade in his novel Beast Three Six, part of his Shadow Strike book series. A character describes the knife as slim enough to fit behind a mag pouch or inside the waistband of a plate carrier. After reading the novel, Daniel Winkler reached out, and the two collaborated to bring it from the page into the real world. Kasper's fifteen years of Army service, from Ranger to Green Beret Captain, shaped what he wanted in a tactical fixed blade, and Winkler had the skills to build it. Named after the book series, the Shadow Strike is purpose-built for concealed carry and fast deployment without sacrificing cutting performance.

Shadow Strike Design and Construction
The Shadow Strike features a 5-inch flat ground 80CRV2 carbon steel blade with a black Caswell no-glare finish and a long, almost trailing point design that sets it apart from any other Winkler model. The blade has a very pronounced false edge swedge running well back from the tip, giving the point fast, refined geometry for detail work and penetration, while the flat ground main edge delivers clean slicing. 80CRV2 is a high-carbon tool steel with outstanding toughness and edge retention at 59-60 HRC, the same proven steel used across the Winkler lineup, and easy to resharpen in the field.
The handle has an ergonomic curving shape that fills the hand naturally without hot spots. On the blade spine, there is a generous curved finger groove with hand-file work texturing for a positive grip when choking up for precise tasks. The integrated finger guard was a feature Kasper insisted on from his combat experience, preventing the grip from shifting forward onto the blade during hard use. Overall length is 9.5 inches with a skeletonized full tang that keeps weight down without sacrificing strength.
Sheath and Carry Options
Each Shadow Strike ships with a Boltaron sheath with a soft liner and includes both the Ulti-Clip AP and Ulti-Clip APH, giving you two carry configurations out of the box. Both clips are USA-made spring steel wire with a military-grade black oxide finish.
The Ulti-Clip AP (All Purpose) is a single-point clip for vertical carry. It provides strong retention on 1.5-inch or 1.75-inch belts and supports beltless carry by clamping directly to a waistband. The AP is tuckable and low profile, ideal for inside-the-waistband carry at the hip or appendix position.
The Ulti-Clip APH (All Purpose Horizontal) is a two-hole clip for scout carry and horizontal belt carry. Slotted mounting holes allow adjustable cant and accommodate 1.5-inch to 1.75-inch belts. Use the APH for carry across the small of the back, behind the hip, or in a scout position.
Both clips included means you switch between vertical and horizontal carry without buying extra hardware. The slim knife-and-sheath profile makes versatile concealed fixed blade carry practical. This knife was designed for concealment from the start, not adapted for it after the fact.
Handle Options
The Shadow Strike is available in multiple handle materials, including maple, walnut, tribal walnut, sculpted black canvas laminate, and other configurations as available. Each handle version is a separate product listed below. A lanyard hole at the butt provides additional carry and retention options. Sculpted versions add aggressive grip texture that locks the knife in your hand when wet or gloved. Wood versions offer a traditional look with the same tactical performance.
