Winkler Belt Knives
Order the Winkler Belt Knife from KnifeArt and it normally ships the same business day. We have been an authorized Winkler dealer since the early days of the brand and were selling Daniel Winkler's hand-forged custom knives before the production line existed. Every Belt Knife we ship carries the full Winkler warranty. Free US shipping on orders over $150. We only collect sales tax on orders shipped to Arkansas and Florida, and every purchase earns points in our buyer rewards program.
The Belt Knife is the most popular design in the entire Winkler Knives lineup and one of the most well-known tactical fixed blades on the market. We have watched this model evolve through years of refinement based on feedback from U.S. Special Operations units. Designed by Master Bladesmith Daniel Winkler in Boone, North Carolina, the Belt Knife was shaped by direct collaboration with operators who needed a perfectly balanced, do-everything fixed blade for field use.
The 4.5-inch 80CRV2 carbon steel blade with a black Caswell no-glare finish provides outstanding toughness and edge retention, and the full tapered tang with thumb index file work gives precise control in the hand. At 9 inches overall and under 6 ounces in most configurations, the Belt Knife is light enough to carry all day without being too small to get serious work done. The balance in the hand is one of the first things you notice - Winkler's use of a tapered tang shifts the weight exactly where it needs to be for natural control.
KnifeArt carries the Winkler Belt Knife in a wide range of handle materials, including natural wood options like walnut and tribal walnut, and synthetic options like black canvas laminate (a micarta-like material), green canvas laminate, sculpted green canvas laminate, sculpted multicam G10, and sculpted wasp laminate. KnifeArt exclusive Topo pattern handles are also available on select runs - these are exclusive to us and you will not find them at any other dealer. Sculpted handle versions add grip texture that makes a real difference when your hands are wet or gloved. If you are not sure which handle material is right for you, call us at 800-564-3327 - we have handled every version and can help you pick the right one for how you plan to use the knife.
Each Belt Knife ships with a felt-lined Boltaron (a Kydex-like material) scabbard with a leather cover, all made in the USA. The felt liner keeps the draw quiet - no plastic-on-steel noise when you pull the knife - and protects the blade finish. The sheath system supports left or right-handed carry in vertical or horizontal positions.
