It weighs one pound three ounces and has a full length, integral tapered tang that helps to reduces its overall weight. The blade is 9 3/4 inches long and .25 inches thick, and is made of 80CRV2 Carbon Steel with a black Caswell finish. The blade has flat grinds.
The handle, which includes one lanyard hole, is made of super tough contoured black micarta. The overall size of the bowie knife is 15 1/2 inches long. I was waiting for a no nonsense, hard use, beautiful bowie. This is it. Winkler production standards as expected and that beautiful shape that must have come from Jason Knight. Extremely comfortable grip with a secure fit for a large American glove size hand. Should be comfortable to anyone without massive hand or very small hands. Blade heavy and most conducive for chopping motions. Balance point about 4cm into the blade. Sheath is fitted perfectly to the blade, as expected. Sheath surprisingly low profile. Blade is not hair cutting sharp and rough cuts paper from the factory but shaves wood well and chops well. Super fine edge would get destroyed if used as intended in my opinion. Clearly impractical as a primary knife but immense fun to use, carry and admire.
